Connect, Reflect and Drink in the Views
All educators are invited to join us in a stunning waterfront location with views of Sydney Harbour, next to a working dock where skilled shipwrights ply their trade, as we deepen our practices around out-learning, the IBPLC and the design.
Momentum is building around the learning transformation on offer with Big Picture Learning...
- Growing numbers of young people in Big Picture settings are finding purpose and meaning in their learning.
- Our credential, the IBPLC, is disrupting the tertiary landscape in Australia and going international.
- Our graduates are successfully moving into their chosen destinations, often linked to successful out-learning experiences.
- The growing credibility of the IBPLC is strengthening interest in the Big Picture learning design.
Co-facilitators Viv White, John Hogan and John Fischetti will welcome aboard our colleagues from BPL USA, UK, Barbados, Kenya and New Zealand and guide us through a dynamic program.
Guest speakers include:
Dr Elliot Washor
Co-Founder of BPLUS, and Co-Director of Big Picture Learning International
Elliot has dedicated his professional life to better understanding how young people learn both inside and outside formal education settings. He is deeply committed to imagining Big Picture Learning as a ‘do-think- do’ organisation, and persistently pushes the boundaries of its design in order to innovate educational practice especially for those youth living in communities furthest from opportunity.
Pam Roy
Philanthropist, Co-Founder of B-Unbound, Co-Founder of Viktor Frankl Insitute of America, and Author of 'Parenting from the Passenger Seat'
Pam is an advocate for meaningful education opportunities and community-based support to foster the well-being of children and young adults. She challenges our current one-size-fits-all school system and highlights the meaning-oriented philosophy of renowned psychiatrist Viktor Frankl.
Andrea Purcell
BPL US Program Director, LA LTL & IBPLC
The simple foundations of structuring learning opportunities around relationships, relevance, and rigour have resonated deeply with Andrea throughout her time in BPL. She will share her insights into the sorts of diverse interests and projects American senior students are pursuing for their IBPLC.
