Spotlight Story: Big Picture Student Published
Launceston City Campus student Jarah Weinreich has been published in the latest issue of Tasmanian-based Forty South magazine.
The article, titled "Gentleman Explorer" charts the life and achievements of little-known Tasmanian explorer and wildlife photographer Frederick Smithies.
17 year old Jarah is a talented writer and is interested in 20th century local and world history and British motor cars, and he has been able to explore and pursue these passions via the Big Picture Education design.
Jarah has done personal interest projects on history and car manufacture and has an on-going internship at the National Automobile Museum of Tasmania in Launceston where he writes articles and press-releases that have also been published in local newspapers and tourism magazines.
Congratulations to Jarah - we look forward to reading more of your excellent work.
Applications are currently open for Forty South Publishing's short fiction competition, the Young Tasmanian Writers Prize, which all Tasmanian secondary students can enter. Further information and an entry form can be accessed here.
